Job #3

Solaris Systems Engineer, 6 month contract-to-hire, they would like to start
interviewing on 5/1 and 5/2.

Need: This is a new position due to growth. Our client recently signed a deal
which may lead them to support up to an additional 1 million customers. They
need this candidate to support some of the new systems being installed. They
currently have 2 dedicated UNIX engineers and this candidate would be the
third. They would like this candidate to specialize within the disaster
recovery planning and process.

Technical Environment: UNIX Solaris (Specifically Solaris 10), Veritas
technologies (Netbackup and volume manager), clustering, HDS Storage Arrays,
Disaster Recovery planning and process.

Work Environment: Team of 7 engineers, This person will be the third Solaris
Engineer. Because they are a smaller shop they don't have traditional
"administrators" that just monitor systems and run backups. Everyone is
expected to handle engineering and design duties. Candidates do not need to
have extensive engineer experience, but should have some engineering
experience and the willingness to gain more experience.

Personality: Close knit team, have to work well with others and be willing to
help other with tasks that may not fall under their job description, a laid
back personality is preferred over a high strung personality, and they must be
self-motivated. This group handles everything cautiously. They want someone
who is patient and will think through a problem before attempting to fix it.

Requirements:(If candidate has a mix of the below skills they may be a fit,
bring candidates to my attention and we will make a decision)
3-5 years experience as an administrator or engineer in a UNIX/Linux
environment, some UNIX experience is necessary
Experience with Veritas (Symantec) technolgies - Netbackup and Volume Manager
