Could we just pull out? Yes.

Should we? I don't think so. We have made a commitment to the people of Iraq, that we
would replace their government with something better than what they had. That we would
'save' them. If we pull out while the region is still as unstable as it is, we're almost
certainly condemning them to a leader worse than Saddam Husein. We did the same thing 20
years ago during the first Gulf War, and look at the mess that got left behind.

Should we have gone to war in the first place? It doesn't matter any more. We're there,
and we now have an obligation to the civilians of Iraq to not abandon them to the
'tender' mercies of a new despot.
