I am betting that more than a few folks, who would rather not pay for the
privilege of unlimited channels of every conceivable AV programming, by
anteing up for the converter or for buying cable or satellite service will
use this as an excuse to finally turn off the box 'o rocks
and read a few books or do other stuff around the house, that the TV was
preventing them from doing before.

TV is nice, it's soothing, and exciting, but it's really NOT essential for
survival or to one's personal welfare. Those who HAVE to have their fix from
TV should just pay for the privilege!
