Flash player prior to version 9 had major performance issues on Linux
(and performance issues in general). However, Adobe hired a lot of
Linux/GTK+ talent and brought the Flash player plugin out of the stone
age with version 9. FP9 on Linux is fast, and Adobe has committed to
release updates for Flash on Windows, Linux, and Mac simultaneously,
so the Linux version will never lag like it has in the past.

Dig through some of the old posts of this blog while they were
developing FP9 for Linux. They seem(ed) to be taking it serious.
