My name is Clint Savage, people online call me herlo
I have been using F/OSS since 2000, when I returned from an LDS mission. My brother, Hans, introduced me to Linux at that time. I'm a pragmatist -- I use Windows and other commercial software when necessary -- but I do prefer F/OSS when available and appropriate.
I've worked professionally as a computer programmer for eight years, with a two year haitus from 1998-2000. I currently do internal systems development at Prosper, Inc. in Provo. I am most familiar with web applications programming. I have extensive experience with web services technology.
Ryan Simpkins began using GNU/Linux in critical production environments in 1998. He is currently a Principal Linux System Administrator and Team Lead working with 15,000+ production Linux servers, 6+ petabytes of storage, and a growing multi-site global datacenter infrastructure. Currently the system he administers receives more than 11 billion front-end transactions daily. Ryan also administers one of the ten largest MySQL installations in the world handling over 440 billion queries daily.
Taking an active role in his community, Ryan serves as president of the Provo Linux Users Group (serving over 400 members). He is also the System Administrator for the Foundation for Children and Youth with Diabetes, a cause he believes deeply in. Additionally, Ryan works as an open source business consultant donating his time to various start ups and small companies worldwide, ensuring the success of the Open Source ecosystem. Ryan also maintains several small GPLd projects, the Utah Radio & Scanner Group, six kids, a wife, and a home.
