The QA Engineer will be responsible for setup and configuration of testing
environments. Will also define test methodologies and write test plans and
test cases. 

Requirements:
Technical Skills Needed: 

-Ability to install Windows, Linux and Solaris including both Sparc and x86
distributions. 

-Ability to maintain Windows, Linux and Solaris software and operating
systems. 

-Ability to maintain Windows, Linux and Solaris Hardware. 

-Operational experience. 

-Hands-on disassembly and assembly experience for hardware modules. 

-Experience with high end systems like the 10k and the 15k. 

-Experience with Sun/Solaris administration and networking to include common
network and TCP/IP protocols (Telnet, FTP, SMTP, HTTP, DHCP, DNS). 

-Exposure to JumpStart procedures and the installation and management of
Solaris packages. 

Solaris or Linux/Unix shell scripting skills. 

Organizational Skills Needed: 

-Define test methodology and write test plans and test cases. 

-Install, setup, and configure testing environments. 

-Basic Router and Switch configuration skills. 

-Familiarity with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems. 

-Ability to communicate with and work with internal and external customers. 

-Available to travel to customer location when required. 

-Ability to write understandable reports on actions taken and results
obtained. 

-Familiarity with Sun StarOffice or Open Office to be used for most
communication with the customer. 

Skills Helpful: 

-Large-scale storage. 

-Directories Services ( E Directory, Active Directory, Open LDAP). 

-Wireless Networking. 

-Security Skills (Network, Application). 

-Test tools (Load generating tools, Scripting tools). 

Responsibilities: Responsible for customer projects assigned. Be able to
learn new technologies, setup and configure the testing environment, run
test according to specifications, maintain open communication with the
customer, may be required to lead a team of Jr. test engineers, and report
directly to the customer the findings of the testing effort. Must be able to
handle situations comfortably while finding a solution to stressful and
escalated issues.
