Another technology that might be even better is Red Hat's SPICE
technology. Set up a VM in the basement and then connect to it with
SPICE.  SPICE was designed for LAN I think, and does video and sound.
Just another option anyway.  You can do Windows or Linux desktops and
apps via it.
