My company, Applied Signal Technology, is hiring for two positions. If you are interested, send me a resume off-list and I'll make sure you get special attention.
- Software Engineer Position
I've posted before about how great it is to work for AST as a software engineer. We have freedom to use whatever tools/languages/technologies we want to get the job done. Engineers on my team have used C++, Python, Perl, Bash, and even Google Go for their projects (notably, no Java, but we aren't haters). We use Linux extensively, including RHEL, Fedora, and Ubuntu. We don't hire people based on a laundry list of skills, but rather we look for people who are smart and get things done.
The software we develop powers some of the world's most important signal processing systems, if you come work for us, you'll be able to go home at night and feel proud of the work you've done. You don't have to be a digital signal processing expert to come work with us. We'll teach you everything you need to know, and you'll be amazed at how much cool stuff is out there that you didn't know about in this domain.
- Software Test Engineer Position
We've grown a lot over the last few years, and we have already hired one software tester. It's been great. We are now looking for a second tester. This position is ideal for someone who has been a system administrator and wants to get into software development, but isn't quite a full-fledged software developer yet. Or even if you just want to dabble in software development, but don't want to go the full Computer Science route. You would be responsible for writing code to do automated testing of several of our most important software projects that we develop here in our Utah office. You would be working with some of the sharpest people I've ever met while you provide testing support for some of the most important software on the planet (yes, I may be prone to hyperbole, but this is actually true in many respects).
We have a great culture and have lots of fun. There is a lot of free food, fun activities, and each March we have a mustache growing contest.
So there you have it. Send me your resume, and I'll get it in the pipeline.
