Istanbul <http://live.gnome.org/Istanbul> can stream to an icecast
server and encode on the fly as well. You can also record sound. So
what you /could/ do is share the session on the powerbook w/ a vnc
server and then run a vnc client fullscreen on the machine that's
capturing the audio and have Istanbul stream that up to the icecast
server.
Seriously, though, I wouldn't want anyone to ruin their evening by
struggling to make such a thing work tonight. Don't do it.
May also be possible to poll a VNC session for flumotion but again the
benefits don't outweigh the cost. Just don't do it.
