Sure but in a multi-processor, multi-server environment, using things
like distcc make it considerably faster.  Probably nowhere near what a
binary distro offers (I think install xorg-server and nvidia-drivers
on Ubuntu takes me about 3 minutes including the download, whereas on
Gentoo in my multi-process/multi-server env takes a good 20 minutes)
but I suppose it's the trade off.
