I'll throw out another mention for beep-media-player. It's like winamp
/ xmms but prettier and compatible with all the winamp skins. I don't
ever bother skinning mine because I use the 'roll up player' option and
make it a small sliver on the screen. I prefer a player that plays
audio and stays out of my way.
Granted 99% of the time I listen to music streaming over my gnump3d
server so I don't need to manage playlists. The server gives me an
.m3u, beep plays it, and disappears.
