MythTV and digital cable

Is anyone using MythTV with digital cable on Comcast?  I'm considering 
switching to digital cable so I can get CSTV during football season 
(plus it will save $5/month).  I know I can still get analog cable 
channels, so I won't lose anything.  How well will it work with the 
settop box though?  I've heard about something where they have to give 
you a firewire-capable box if you request it.  Has anyone done that 
(successfully)?
