I messed around a little with a Freescale MCU, but I used the Windows
version of the development environment instead of Linux.  The Windows
environment has a simulator and some other tools that make it a bit
easier to figure out how to write code for it.  I didn't really
explore what kind of Linux development tools there were for it.
