I have a linux drive, an SATA 80gb from Samsung. Somehow my partition table
has been HOZED...
I get the following error:
root at 2[knoppix]# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 34 273073 83 Linux
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sda2 35 1007 7815622+ f W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/sda3 1165 9729 68798328 83 Linux
/dev/sda5 35 642 4883728+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda6 643 1007 2931831 83 Linux
/dev/sda7 1008 1115 867478+ 82 Linux swap /
Solaris
/dev/sda8 1116 1164 393561 83 Linux
/dev/sda9 1165 9729 68798331 83 Linux
For whatever reaason, I can't seem to get the machine too boot on its own,
though I have it booted up with knoppix disk and I can mount and read from
and write to all the partitions, all the data appears to be intact.....
I ran gpart a few days ago, to bring back the partition table to the current
state.
I need someone who is a partition guru to help me figure out how to get the
table set right so it will boot and run.
Thanks,
Scott
