Cinelerra on Alienware d/c Opteron

Anyone running Cinelerra on a _64 Distro?
I am trying to get it to run on an Alienware laptop (Area-51M 7700) but
am having trouble getting the 64 bit OS installed.
NLD 9 installed fine but had too many package conflicts during the
Cinelerra install.
SuSE 10 (64 bit) freezes on the install, both ACPI disabled and Safe
settings install.
I am going to try the i686 SuSE install to see if that installs any
better, then I am off to another Distro.
