This is the case with a 6450 we have here at work.  The ACPI is buggy.  I 
found a thread a while back that said you could use the ipmi interface to 
powerdown successfully, but how to make the kernel use that mechanism I never 
bothered to figure out.  Maybe it's trivial, I don't know.
