Number pad in vi using putty

I noticed that very same quirk.  The number pad works on the command 
line, but fails in vi.  If you use vi directly then there isn't this 
problem.  I did notice that if you ssh from another Linux box, this 
doesn't seem to be a problem.  From what I can tell it is only if you 
use Putty.
