AMD Athlon -- clock run 2x faster under linux

I have, but it's been a while so I don't remember exactly how I fixed 
it.  What kernel version are you running?  Have you tried upgrading your 
kernel?  Your bios?  I'll keep racking my brain to see if I can remember 
the fix...
