samba anonymous read/write

Does anyone know how to setup Samba so *anyone* can read and write to 
the shared directories?

I've gotten it so anyone can read, but no matter what I do, I still 
can't figure out how to enable write access.

Here's one of my sample directory setups:

[archives]
    comment = Archives
    path = /home/steve/archives
    read only = no
    public = yes

The only time I can get it working is when I chmod the directory 777, 
but it seems like there's got to be an easier way.
