December PLUG Meeting: Perl 6

Date: Wednesday Dec 13, 2006
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: United Online

PLUG:

This month we will be having a presentation on Perl 6 basics. Come with nothing, leave being able to write basic Perl 6 scripts.

NUPM:

The Northern Utah Perl Mongers (NUPM) will meet at the same location, at 6:30pm. Scott Paul Robertson will be presenting on oggify.

Oggify is program designed to add in the converting of FLAC audio to
other formats. It preserves directory structure along with the tags. It
aims at being simple and easy to use, but flexible at the same time.
Version 1.0 will be released in conjunction with the meeting.

I will discuss the history, design, and code of Oggify, showing how it
developed and what obstacles had to be overcome. There will also be some
discussion of where I’m planning to take it from here. There will be
ample opportunity for input concerning design, features, and anything
else with regards to future versions.
