In order to ease management and open the door to more possibilities we have moved to the Drupal CMS system. Features include comment posting on stories, a full member directory, and polls (how can you live without a poll). Registrations are moderated to prevent abuse, but we will have you set up quickly. August PLUG Meeting: OSCON Recap

Those that attended OSCON will highlight some of the more interesting things they encountered. Including:

  • Vim Tricks – Straight from D. Conway.
  • Tivo + MythTV – Together at last.
  • Perl 6 update, and more!

“OSCON is the O’Reilly Open Source Convention. This year it was held in Portland, Oregon. Featured speakers included Karl Fogel (Google, Inc.), Chris DiBona (Google, Inc.), Damian Conway (Thoughstream), Guido van Rossum (Creator of Python), and many other F/OSS industry leaders. Presenters at the PLUG meeting will summarize their OSCON experience. If you were unable to attened OSCON come benefit from those that were able to go. There will be no charge for a plane ticket, or hotel room.”

PLUG: Provo Linux Users Group

Membership:
The Provo Linux Users Group welcomes everyone with an interest in Linux and Free/Open Source Software. Most of our members live in, or near, Utah valley. There is no membership fee. The only membership requirement is active participation.

Meetings:
Meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm. Please subscribe to the mailing list or watch this web site for additional details as that is subject to change. The meeting location is at the UVU Business Resource Center in Orem, just off of the University Parkway exit. You can view our future meeting schedule and potential topics.
